Transitional Shelters/Housing are the backbone of transitioning from homelessness to living in your own place. That’s why there are so many of that type of shelter. But they will do you little good if you need a shelter tonight or really even for the next few weeks. They all have a heavy-duty entrance procedure and a waiting list for entry. So, if you are currently homeless, get in an emergency shelter or your car or even a tent and apply to one of these transitional shelter programs while you are waiting.
