Lucille Giles Center by Roof Above

This is truly an emergency housing program. It’s located at 3410 Statesville Avenue. Tap here for a map to the location.  You can get there via bus 21 from the Transportation Center or Roof Above’s Day Services Center.

Just show your Coordinated Entry card to get a ride there. If you don’t have a card, you can get one at the Day Services Center.  But you don’t need a Coordinated Entry card to stay the night.

Here is the hard part, there’s always a line to get in. Entry into this shelter is on a first-come, first-served basis. Check-in starts at 6pm nightly. You can start lining up to get in any time before that.  If you get in, it’s only for one night and you will have to line up again to get back in the next night. There are only 118 beds here. But it is warm and clean. They serve dinner and breakfast here.
