The state maintains offices for services for the Blind in all major North Carolina cities. Their Charlotte office is located in this office building at 5501 Executive Center Dr. It runs off of Albemarle Rd in East Charlotte. They address all types of vision impairments here. For more about the variety of services, see their pamphlet below.
To get the process started in Charlotte, contact one of the social workers in their office at 980-296-6820. They can provide eye-care at low or no cost based on a sliding scale of income. This same office provides services for the Deaf as well. Most importantly, note the vocational re-hab work they provide for this population.
