What would happen if someone who manages commercial properties and sells real estate for a living decided to spend some of their time helping some of Charlotte’s homeless population move from $2000/month to stay in a motel, —> to renting a room in a house —-> to owning a house or apartment? What if that person had been homeless herself in one point in her life?
OK, it’s not free but it’s much cheaper than a hotel. You’ll have to come up with $200 as a “down payment” for the program and $770~990/month for the room. (the rooms vary in price because some have extra amenities like a private entrance or bath. But that’s where the benefits are just getting started. You’ll be connected with someone who knows all the ins and outs of home ownership. They will help you with financial literacy and credit repair. They will refer you to the best jobs programs to maximize your earning potential. And when you’re ready to realize your dream, they’ll connect you with a variety of first-time home-ownership programs.
Best of all, there’s no long waiting list to get into this program. Since they are in real estate, they just buy another house to hold more clients. OK, so there could be a pause between houses as they fill one up and find another.
So what are you waiting for? Scrape together the 200 bucks and contact them at 980-430-1000 or Elevationofhope@gmail.com to get the process started. If you like, you can see more information about the program at https://elevationofhope.my.canva.site/non-profit
