CriSys Mecklenburg

CriSys is like the “urgent care” of mental health providers in Charlotte. They are highly mobile and have a come-to-the-patient way of operating. They divide their services into four distinct teams:

Community Based Mobile Crisis Team It’s composed of masters-level clinicians. Upon arrival at a crisis situation, they assess the crisis situation, help the individual arrive at a safe and stable crisis plan, and provide connection to community resources.

Mobile Engagement Team They provide short-term assistance beyond the crisis situation. The team works with individuals and families to identify and navigate connection barriers, learn the skills needed to minimize future crises, and provide connection to community resources in a timely manner. Team of clinicians that can be dispatched by 911/officers or called by civilians to assist individuals or families in crisis, suicidal/homicidal ideations, or grief calls.

CMS Crisis Support Team Through their partnership with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System (CMS), our CMS Team is solely dedicated to working with students within the CMS system who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Our CMS team consists of two licensed clinicians who respond to crisis situations, working with students and their loved ones to arrive at a safe and stable crisis plan and provide connection to community resources.

Community Policing Crisis Response Team They partner of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD). Our CPCRT team consists of 12 clinicians paired with 12 licensed Crisis Intervention Trained (CIT) officers to provide humane, compassionate, and effective law enforcement response to behavioral health and substance use calls within the Mecklenburg Community. Clinicians accompanied by officers who can be requested during a 911 call upon availbility for SI/HI, or persons experiencing a mental health crisis. This team is able to petition and transport for an IVC if necessary. Operates 6am-10pm. All of their services are at no charge to the resident!
