Homeless Shelters All

Shelters. There are many different shelters in Charlotte.  Would you answer some quick yes or no questions so we can take you to the best shelter for your situation?
Otherwise, just review the list below.

Day SheltersThis is the type of shelter you can go to only during the day. It’s usually from 9a ~ 5p. With any luck you’ll find a meal here and hopefully a Case Manager who can help you get back on both feet..
Emergency SheltersThese shelters are equipped to help you stay overnight.

Transitional SheltersThese shelters are set up to enroll you in their program for more than an overnight stay. They cannot help you find housing “tonight”
Medical SheltersIf you or one of your family are under medical care these shelters can temporarily shelter you
Maternity SheltersThey will help mothers-to-be or mothers with newborn on a temporary basis
Family SheltersThese are rare and hard to get into
Domestic ViolenceIf you are a woman fleeing a domestic violence situation they can safely house you until you can stand on your own
Substance AbuseIf you’re committed to making a change they will help you. Even if you’re “high functioning” your problems could be keeping you from employment and a happy life
Mental HealthDon’t get stuck on stigma. Check into one of these programs for faster care
Permanent These organizations will help you find permanent low-income housing
* and with whoever is doing your Coordinated Entry Assessment. It will improve your vulnerability score which may give you a higher priority to get into a shelter
