Hearts for the Invisible

If you’re homeless* in Charlotte this website has a lot of options of places where you can go. But what makes H.F.T.I. special is that they will come to you. That’s why they’re called an Outreach Team. There’s a special team of people that monitors requests and reports from this webpage. They will make every effort to visit your location within 3 business days. They have licensed social workers who can connect you with the best resources in town to match your needs. This is probably one of the toughest jobs in town so the people who are willing to do it really do have a heart for you and whatever situation you’re in.

Here’s HFTI in a morning staff meeting preparing to meet people suffering from homelessness where they are.
Here is a link to their website.

* These are the conditions that define someone as homeless:

  • Living in a place not meant for human habitation, or
  • Living in emergency shelter (including domestic violence shelter), or
  • Living in transitional housing, or
  • Exiting an institution where you temporarily resided for up to 90 days
(and were in a shelter or a place not meant for human habitation immediately
    prior to entering that institution)
  • Likely to meet one of the above definitions within the next 72 hours.
